PictureSMS 1.14 – March 6, 2008

1. Added support for the internal MIDI and WAV/MP3 added by MiniTone or Music Tones. This includes the PictureSMS media setting and SMS Nagger.

2. Added support for sending and receiving SMS to/from email addresses.

  a. Support email address as a recipient in normal SMS and scheduled SMS.

  b. Support importing of email addresses.

  c. Support custom picture and sound to a specific email contact.

  d. PictureSMS will recognize the email address on either built-in or PictureSMS addressbook. (M) for mobile (E) for email address.

3. Delete button on the chat thread is back! Thanks to miss Sheri and AussiePalm of MTDN.

4. During import of contacts, if the first and last names don't exist, company name will be selected.

5. TealPoint's TealLock is now well supported. Thanks to Thomas W. for the report.

6. Improved screen waking up on SMS receiving.

7. Open and close "(" & ")" parentheses are now automatically parsed on contact fields. Thanks to Ryan Meyers of ryanmeyersband.com for the report.

8. Swapped the location of the Done and Send buttons in the chat thread forms.

9. Added auto-refresh when SMS is forwarded or resent.

10. Fixed minor bug on selecting category in the media setting.

11. Fixed the bug after deleting, importing, saving the contact.

12. Fixed the import of contacts bug. Now, it is only mobile and email contact details will be added.

13. Fixed the "Form68k.c, Line: 1771, No form event handler" error. We traced this bug to Butler Keyguard. This keyguard has it's own way to be disabled. So we collaborated with Rob of Hobbyist Software to solve the problem.

14. Fixed bug on Helper if the contact has no name.

15. Fixed minor bugs.

PictureSMS 1.12 – November 21, 2007

1. SMS Scheduler and Compose New SMS now support adding recipients by contact category (e.g. Unfiled, Business, Personal, etc.). Only Mobile phones will be recognized and added. Applicable to both Treo built-in phonebook and PictureSMS addressbook.

2. PictureSMS now supports any picture sizes including the pictures taken using the Treo camera to fit the whole screen of the New SMS window and the LilPic pictures. No need to resize the pictures on your PC/Mac. PictureSMS will do the resizing without affecting the original. However, the ideal sizes for picture caller ID and LilPic still stand, so you can have better control.

3. Added support for the Palm Centro.

4. Added picture preview while selecting picturs in Picture media setting and LilPic setting.

5. Added QuickText template.

6. Added support for Treo camera pictures located in the \DCIM or in any folder of the SD Card. PictureSMS will automatically display the pictures taken from the Treo camera to fit the whole screen of the New SMS window without physically resizing the original. This is a cool new feature.

7. All pictures now load 45% faster than the previous versions. This is the result of supporting pnoJpegLib. JpegLib is no longer supported. pnoJpegLib is available in the zip file or can be downloaded using PictureSMS.

8. Searching for a contact in PictureSMS Address book is now smarter. Implementing the search-while-typing SQL query scheme. For Example, if you want to search for the contacts that starts with the name John, just type John. If you want to find the contacts with the name John ANYWHERE in the contact's name, just use the asterisk wildcard as the prefix *John. NOTE: Wildcard search is slower than the normal search. Thanks to twitch3 of TreoCentral for the suggestion.

9. Implements better heap memory management.

10. ALLCONTACTS media setting can now be manually added and deleted.

11. Fixed some bugs.

12. FREE: pSMSLauncher plug-in (2Kb). This plug-in will let you compose and send SMS anywhere in your Treo. You can put it on your launcher and manually launch it. Or assign it to a button for the long-press or key combination access. No need to go to the main PictureSMS or the Treo phonebook contacts just to send SMS. If Nokia phones can do it, so can we. hehe.

1. Added picture caller id on the SMS list (LilPic©). The ideal size for the picture is 30x30 pixel. Sample pictures are included in the folder for your reference.

2. Added PictureSMS address book and the option to import contacts from the built-in address book.

Benefits:

a. Speed improvement. Since you have the option to add only the frequent SMS contacts.

b. Fixed the strange Caller ID problem on some devices.

c. Ability to change the name of the sender without affecting the contact in the built-in addressbook.

d. The display name of Unknown (no caller id) can now be changed.

e. Adding a contact in composing new SMS can be done either by searching the contact name or the contact number. E.g. Typing 89, every number which has 89 will be included.

3. Option to set a custom picture and sound alert to Unknown (no caller id) contact.

4. Aesthetic adjustments.

5. PictureSMS can now be assigned as the default SMS application in the Treo Preferences.

Benefits:

On any software in your Treo, mobile number hotlinks can now be handled by PictureSMS if SMS handling is needed. This new feature supports all the built-in applications and 3rd party softwares like TakePhone, UltimatePhone, Agendus, TreoMemo,  etc., and other Phone Application softwares.
